WIT Studio Sparks Attack on Titan Comeback Rumors With a Mysterious Announcement

--

FOLIO OTN – Fans of Attack on Titan have a new reason to revisit the franchise after WIT Studio teased a special announcement connected to the legendary series. The studio, which animated the first three seasons before MAPPA took over the final season, is preparing to reveal new information on August 20, 2026.

The announcement immediately generated speculation because WIT Studio accompanied the tease with a mysterious promotional image featuring several familiar faces from the series. Mikasa, Armin, Eren, Levi, Erwin, and Hange all appear in the artwork, creating the impression that the upcoming project could be closely connected to the original storyline.

Adding to the mystery is the message attached to the illustration. WIT Studio hinted that these characters would be involved in a special dinner connected to “that time.” The deliberately vague wording has encouraged fans to search for possible meanings and wonder whether the image contains clues about the nature of the announcement.

Naturally, one of the biggest theories is that WIT Studio could be preparing another Attack on Titan anime project. However, there is currently no official confirmation that a new television series, movie, or continuation is being produced by the studio. The August 20 presentation should therefore be treated as a reveal rather than proof of a new anime.

The possibility is particularly intriguing because WIT Studio has a strong historical connection with the franchise. The studio established the anime's original visual identity and handled its first three seasons before MAPPA became responsible for adapting the concluding portion of Hajime Isayama's manga.

There is also an important reason to remain cautious about predictions of a conventional sequel. The main Attack on Titan manga story has already been completely adapted into anime form, meaning a straightforward continuation of Eren Yeager's central journey would have little source material left to cover.
