One Piece Chapter 1189 May Reveal a Final Fantasy XV Inspiration Behind Imu’s Mysterious Weapons

One Piece Chapter 1189 May Reveal a Final Fantasy XV Inspiration Behind Imu’s Mysterious Weapons

--

FOLIO OTN – The latest developments in One Piece Chapter 1189 have sparked fresh discussions among fans after new details surrounding Imu's abilities appeared to support a long-standing theory. According to recent information, the enigmatic ruler of the World Government possesses the power to summon legendary weapons connected to the Empty Throne, a concept that many readers believe closely resembles the combat style of Noctis, the protagonist of Final Fantasy XV.

The chapter suggests that every weapon Imu calls forth originally belonged to the monarchs of the 19 kingdoms that established the World Government centuries ago. Rather than carrying these weapons physically, Imu can manifest them instantly through a mysterious ability referred to as "Omen." This revelation explains why the villain has displayed such a wide variety of swords, spears, and other legendary armaments throughout the Elbaph storyline.

Many fans immediately noticed the similarities with Final Fantasy XV, where Noctis inherits the Royal Arms of his ancestors and can summon them into battle at will. Although Eiichiro Oda has never confirmed that the game directly inspired this aspect of Imu's power, the resemblance has fueled widespread speculation across the manga community. Until the creator addresses the topic in an official SBS or interview, the connection remains an intriguing fan theory rather than confirmed canon.

So far, readers have seen several of Imu's extraordinary weapons, including legendary blades such as Nemesis, Gram, Stigma, Vohu, Fragarach, Longinus, and the massive Xingtian Axe. Some of these weapons appear to possess unique supernatural abilities beyond ordinary combat. For example, Vohu is believed to drain the life force of its surroundings, hinting that every weapon may carry its own special power.

Another interesting detail is that only 19 weapons are associated with the Empty Throne despite the legend of the original founders. This is because the Nefertari family never remained within the World Government, leading many fans to wonder whether Imu secretly possesses a twentieth personal weapon. The halberd seen during Imu's arrival in Elbaph has become one of the strongest candidates in this ongoing theory.

The manga has yet to fully explain how Imu summons these relics. Throughout the Elbaph arc, however, Imu has repeatedly demonstrated abilities involving magical circles, teleportation, and object manifestation. These mysterious techniques have raised further questions about whether the source of these powers comes from an unknown Devil Fruit or from an entirely different supernatural force hidden within the One Piece world.
