Who Would Win? Exploring a Hypothetical Battle Between Blackbeard and Imu in One Piece

--

FOLIO OTN – As One Piece enters its Final Saga, fans have begun imagining dream matchups that could reshape the future of the series. One of the most fascinating possibilities is a clash between Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) and Nerona Imu, two of the most mysterious and dangerous figures in Eiichiro Oda's world. While such a confrontation has not happened in the manga, many readers have debated which side would emerge victorious.

Blackbeard stands out as one of the most unpredictable pirates in history. Unlike any other known character, he possesses the powers of two Devil Fruits: the Dark-Dark Fruit, which can absorb and nullify Devil Fruit abilities, and the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, capable of generating devastating earthquakes. This combination gives Teach overwhelming offensive potential and makes him a serious threat even to the world's strongest fighters.

On the other hand, Imu remains an enormous mystery despite recent revelations. The secret ruler of the World Government has displayed extraordinary supernatural powers, including mysterious weapon manifestations, massive-scale attacks, and abilities that appear far beyond those of ordinary Devil Fruit users. Because Oda has yet to fully explain the source of Imu's strength, estimating the character's true combat level remains difficult.

One factor that could determine the outcome is Blackbeard's unique ability to suppress Devil Fruit powers. If Imu's abilities originate from a Devil Fruit, Teach's darkness could become an effective counter. However, if Imu's powers come from another source—such as an ancient force, advanced technology, or an unknown supernatural phenomenon—Blackbeard's greatest advantage might prove ineffective.

Experience and strategy would also play crucial roles. Blackbeard is famous for carefully planning his moves and waiting for the perfect opportunity before striking. Rather than relying solely on brute force, he often manipulates situations to maximize his chances of victory. Imu, meanwhile, commands the full authority and military resources of the World Government, giving the ruler advantages that extend far beyond individual combat.

Another major consideration is Haki. Although Blackbeard has demonstrated exceptional endurance and destructive power, the full extent of his Haki mastery remains largely unknown. Likewise, Imu has yet to reveal whether advanced forms of Observation, Armament, or Conqueror's Haki are among the ruler's abilities. These unanswered questions make any prediction highly speculative.
