With new heroines entering the story, fans are once again trying to determine exactly how many girlfriends the protagonist has accumulated so far. The third season premiered on July 5, 2026, with Bibury Animation Studios handling the production.
The series follows Rentaro, a high school student whose romantic fate is anything but ordinary. After learning that he is destined to meet 100 soulmates, he discovers that rejecting any of them could have tragic consequences. Rather than choosing between potential partners, Rentaro attempts to give every soulmate the same level of affection and commitment.
From Six Girlfriends to a Growing Family
Rentaro's unusual romantic journey began with six girlfriends during the first season. These early relationships established the show's trademark combination of outrageous comedy and surprisingly sincere romantic moments. Each girl comes with her own personality, emotional struggles, and circumstances that make her relationship with Rentaro distinct.

The second season expanded the group by another five members. Among the newcomers were Kurumi Haraga and Iku Suto, along with Mimimi, Meme, and Mei. By the conclusion of Season 2, Rentaro officially had 11 girlfriends, creating an increasingly chaotic but affectionate group commonly known as the Rentaro Family.
Season 3 continues that expansion with several additional characters. Among the new names are Chiyo Iin, Nadie, Yamame Yasashiki, Momiji Momi, and Kishika Torotoro. Their different backgrounds and personalities introduce new comedic situations while giving Rentaro fresh relationships to navigate.
Based on the promotional material available during the season, Rentaro's girlfriend count has climbed into the low-to-mid teens. A promotional visual featuring 13 heroines suggests that his romantic circle has already grown beyond the 11 relationships established by the end of Season 2. However, the exact final number for Season 3 remains subject to further developments as the anime continues.
