The game was initially teased earlier in 2026, but its full reveal provided additional details about its title, platforms, characters, and gameplay. The announcement was part of Colorful, a special livestream celebrating a decade of the KonoSuba anime.
This new project also represents the franchise's return to the mobile gaming market after KonoSuba: Fantastic Days ended its service in 2025. The new RPG therefore gives the series another opportunity to build an interactive experience around its famous characters.
Unlike an adaptation that follows the established anime plot, Machisuba promises an original adventure. That approach could allow longtime fans to experience unfamiliar situations involving the dysfunctional party while still retaining the comedic spirit that defines KonoSuba.

For now, the Japanese version is the only confirmed release, and Kadokawa has not announced international publishing plans. Japanese players can already find pre-registration information through the relevant mobile storefronts.
