Danielle, Former Member of NewJeans, Releases Solo Song Titled "Stay"
Danielle, a former member of NewJeans who officially ended her contract with ADOR last December, surprised fans with the announcement of her latest musical project.
This original creation was released to coincide with Bunnies Day, the anniversary of the NewJeans fanbase (fandom), which was formed in 2022 and is now celebrating its 4th anniversary.
At midnight on October 29, Danielle uploaded a 1-minute, 34-second music video for the song “Stay” to her personal YouTube channel. According to the video description, Danielle served as both the lyricist and music producer for the song.
The name “Bunnies” was first announced on October 29, 2022, coinciding with the 100th day since NewJeans’ debut. Since then, that date has been celebrated as Bunnies Day every year.
The song “Stay” is a folk-pop track that blends Danielle’s soft vocals with warm acoustic guitar accompaniment. The lyrics are written entirely in English and center on themes of longing and doubt about the possibility of regaining what has been lost.
The production of this song featured Jeong Seok Hun on guitar and Producer Z handling the mixing. Meanwhile, the music video was directed by Dee Shin, who previously directed popular NewJeans music videos such as “Hype Boy,” “Cookie,” and “Supernatural.”

The release of this song took place amid an ongoing legal dispute between Danielle and ADOR.
The agency filed a lawsuit seeking damages and a contract cancellation penalty totaling 33.1 billion won (approximately 451 billion rupiah) against Danielle, her relatives, and ADOR’s former CEO, Min Hee Jin.
Previously, the members of NewJeans announced the termination of their contracts with ADOR in November 2024, citing allegations of contract breaches by the agency. However, the court ruled in October of last year that the contract remains valid and in effect.
