Fast Forever Four Years in the Making
Diesel explained that Fast Forever underwent four years of development involving four different sets of writers before arriving at a version he felt was worthy of concluding the long-running franchise.
He revealed that the finished script deeply moved him, bringing him to tears as he read it. At the anniversary screening, he told the audience that he became emotional midway through the script and was unable to hold back tears by the end.

This highlights the deep personal connection he feels toward the story. Fast X: Part 2 (tentatively titled Fast Forever) is slated to be the eleventh and final installment of the franchise, with a theatrical release currently scheduled for March 17, 2028. The series stands as one of Universal's most commercially successful properties, boasting a cumulative global box office gross of approximately $7.3 billion.

However, director Louis Leterrier recently revealed that he has not yet read the latest script. In an interview with Polygon, while he acknowledged the existence of a finale for the series and predicted it would be "amazing," he remained cautious regarding his own involvement.
At this stage, Vin Diesel’s aim to begin filming in December serves as the clearest indication that Fast Forever has entered the production phase for the series' final chapter.
