BONES President Confirms No My Hero Academia Remake Planned; Studio Focused on New Anime

These differing circumstances make a My Hero Academia remake unlikely for the time being. BONES has already adapted Kohei Horikoshi's concluded manga through to its final season, so there are no issues regarding unfinished source material that would necessitate starting over from scratch.
Instead, the studio continues to work on new projects, including Daemons of the Shadow Realm, an anime adaptation of Arakawa's latest manga. Minami acknowledged that reuniting with the creator offers the benefit of an established working relationship, though the new series presents its own challenges as it differs significantly from Fullmetal Alchemist.

BONES' official website lists Daemons of the Shadow Realm in its 2026 production slate, alongside My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and other ongoing projects.
Although My Hero Academia continues to receive additional animated content following the broadcast of its final television episode, a full-scale remake does not appear to be part of BONES' current plans. For fans hoping to see the entire series remade with modern animation quality, Minami's comments suggest that such a project would require vastly different circumstances than the situation that gave rise to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
