The update also includes new features for games that are already part of the service. TCG Card Shop Simulator will exit its Game Preview phase and reach version 1.0 on September 15, while EA Play users will be able to try EA Sports NHL 27 for ten hours starting September 4.
Finally, Microsoft has confirmed which games will be leaving Game Pass on September 15. Among them are Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Cells, Frostpunk 2, Spiritfarer, Superliminal, Commandos: Origins, and Train Sim World 5, so subscribers who haven’t played any of these yet should take advantage of the next few days to do so.
Follow the struggles of the Allied forces (the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union) in iconic battles against the Axis Powers (Nazi Germany and the Japanese Empire) to put an end to global tyranny. *World at War* also introduces the character Viktor Reznov, who would later become a key link to the *Black Ops* series.
The story centers on a CIA agent named Alex Mason and his partner, Frank Woods. During the Cold War era of the 1960s, Mason was captured and brainwashed by the Soviet Union through a secret “Numbers Station” project to assassinate the U.S. President. The story continues into the future (Black Ops II & III), highlighting the threat of global cyberterrorism led by Raul Menendez, as well as the use of cybernetic soldiers on future battlefields.
The story follows an elite military task force called Task Force 141, led by Captain Price and John “Soap” MacTavish. They attempt to thwart the plans of Russian ultranationalist terrorists Imran Zakhaev and Vladimir Makarov, which trigger a massive geopolitical conflict. The plot culminates in World War III following provocative acts of terrorism and internal betrayal from within the U.S. military itself (General Shepherd).
The story then jumps far into the future, when humanity has colonized the solar system, sparking a space war between Earth and the radical rebel group SDF.
