SpongeBob becomes Luffy Gear 5 thanks to McDonald's!

FOLIO OTONITY – After “One Piece” announced its long-rumored collaboration with Nike, the franchise’s creators also unveiled a truly original collaboration that brings together two animated series with millions of fans worldwide. McDonald’s, the renowned fast-food chain, has confirmed that its new line of toys included in the Happy Meal is inspired by a fusion of ‘One Piece’ and ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’.
This collaboration, which will take place in more than 60 countries, is now available at all McDonald’s restaurants in Spain and will run through October 13.
This latest Happy Meal toy collection consists of 12 toys that combine characters from ‘One Piece’ and ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,’ resulting in highly original pairings such as: Patrick and Zoro, Sandy and Nami, Squidward and Sanji, Mr. Krabs and Jinbe, or SpongeBob and Luffy Gear 5. Surprisingly, this collaboration will not be available in Japan. Currently, there is no explanation as to why McDonald’s is not launching this promotion in the Land of the Rising Sun—the home of the anime featuring Luffy and his crew—but it is most likely due to the recent Pokémon card speculation scandal.
In addition, it’s worth noting that a few days ago, there were some complaints about Brook being the only Straw Hat member who didn’t have an official toy yet.
Fortunately for “One Piece” fans, McDonald’s has finally listened to customer feedback and launched a figure inspired by the skeletal singer from Luffy’s crew. As we confirmed above, Brook will join Smitty as the 13th toy in this collaboration.
