One Piece Film: BaaD Returns to the Original Story
Obviously, it would be absolutely amazing if Toei Animation made a movie about the D. family and the Age of Void for us to enjoy on the big screen. However, we also shouldn’t rule out the possibility that this movie will tell a completely original story unrelated to the manga’s plot.

The God Valley movie will be the first 100% canonical film, but that doesn’t guarantee that the franchise’s future lies in all its movies being adaptations of the original work. Instead, Oda could devise new adventures for Luffy and his friends, creating entirely new characters, islands, and Devil Fruits that further expand the One Piece universe.

And, if that is indeed the case, it’s worth noting that this doesn’t necessarily mean these films will include canonical elements. For example, characters like Shiki and Uta were introduced in One Piece Film: Strong World and One Piece Film: Red, and they eventually became part of the franchise’s official canon. For now, all we can do is be patient and let Oda and Toei Animation work on this new project, but at the very least, One Piece Film: BaaD has generated a lot of excitement among fans.
