How Bulla Became Part of Vegeta and Bulma’s Family
--
Bulla’s birth took place during the early stages of the Universe Survival Saga. Initially, Vegeta rejected joining the team for the 7th Universe Power Tournament because Bulma had not yet given birth, and he insisted on staying by her side.

This situation presented a problem because Goku needed Vegeta for the tournament, but Vegeta refused to sacrifice his presence at his daughter’s birth.
Whis ultimately resolved the issue by using his extraordinary abilities to speed up Bulla’s birth so that Vegeta might join his team for the tournament.
After Bulla was born, Vegeta immediately formed a strong emotional bond with her, reinforcing his softer, family-oriented side. This episode uses her birth to demonstrate that Vegeta’s priorities have shifted significantly since he was first introduced as a villain.
The name also has an interesting connection to his family. Vegeta had considered naming his daughter Eschalot, inspired by the Saiyans, but Bulma ultimately named her Bulla—or Bra, depending on the translation.
Bulla later appears alongside her family toward the end of the original Dragon Ball manga, where she is depicted as part of the younger generation alongside Trunks and other characters.
